The Turn of the millennium coincided with the beginning of a journey that today is in its thirteenth year for Irish based DJ / Producer, Chris Ward.
Hailing from the Irish capital Dublin but now living in Co. Carlow, Chris has gradually built his profile as one of Ireland’s most promising young talents, within the dance music scene. Focusing on the development and continued advancing of his skill set across a number of different avenues, Chris has successfully developed an all encompassing promotion strategy for himself as a DJ, via three main areas 1: Live Events 2: Radio Broadcasting and Presentation and 3: Music Production.

Each of these elements have been developed as a skill set as part of an overall strategy, and Chris has managed to master each one, as well as combining all three into a combined, synergistic marketing strategy. At the tender age of just 11, Chris began on this journey (which has had the same end goal since day one) by gradually building a profile as a DJ in Dublin, where as a youngster played many local private functions as well as small events such as teenage discos and parties. Alongside this, and even at such a young age, Chris also put the wheels in motion with his radio career, initially working on Dublin pirate stations before at the age of just 13, landing a slot on local station Dublin south Fm, where Chris eventually peaked, presenting their Drive time programme. Following a family move to Co. Carlow in 2003, Chris continued his radio career progress with shows on Radio Kilkenny and later on with KCLR96fm.

At the same time, Chris’ efforts on the live scene saw Chris move onto playing local venues, and gradually, over a period of 5+ years, building to several high profile Club residencies across Ireland. To match this resounding success, Chris radio efforts saw him reach the National airwaves where Chris worked for over two years with Irelands Today Fm. Slowly but surely throughout this process, Chris gradually managed to make the transition from playing (both on radio and at live events) commercial music, to being able to use his achieved skills to begin developing his name as a dance music artist.
As a result, a shift took place, in terms of the type of DJ Chris was to become, with the development of a brand, a name and a following.

Slowly but surely, each of the seemingly disconnected elements to Chris’ career morphed to form what is today, Chris overall brand as an artist, using the avenues Chris has worked on throughout his career to date, as different aspects to an overall brand. Currently, Chris features regularly on the dance music scene in Ireland and Internationally with his unique style of House, Techno and trance being central to his output. Similarly on the airwaves, Chris’ style echoes that of his ‘sound’ with his syndicated radio show ‘Climax with Chris Ward’ broadcasting 2 hours of music complementary to the same sound you will hear Chris play live. The latest addition to this overall strategy has been the ongoing development of the music production aspect to Chris output. Now regularly remixing and collaborating with some of the biggest names in the business, as well as an ever expanding and developing sound as an original music producer, Chris’ music has been instrumental in the development of his artistic style and is now firmly placed as the third main aspect to Chris output as a DJ.

Throughout his lengthy career to date, naturally Chris has developed additional skill sets that are also part of his brand, such as hosting several on-screen interviews with some of the world’s biggest DJs and anchoring coverage, as a presenter, for several TV and screen features, within the spectrum of dance music. In addition, Chris voices and produces radio adverts and promotional videos for several large dance music events around the globe and has been the voice behind the promotion campaigns for brands such as Godskitchen, Planetlove, Future Music and many more. Chris career continues to expand at a rate of knots, watch this space..
